ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

NORTH STAFFS AND DISTRICT GOLF LEAGUE

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held at Newcastle Golf Club on Wednesday 16th November 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

  1. Apologies – There were none, noted Trentham Park did not attend.  £80 Fine to be issued.
  2. Minutes of the 2022 AGM – taken as read.
  3. Accounts for the year ending 31st October 2022 accepted. TheTreasurer informed the meeting that in the year a loss of £121.86 was incurred.
  4. Subscriptions for 2023 – to remain at £80 per team.                                                        
  5. Matters Arising

Additional rule: All games to be arranged on Saturdays between 12:00 & 14:00 unless an alternative day/time is agreed by both Captains.

Scorecards to now contain 3 boxes: WHS Index/Course Handicap/Playing Handicap (90% of Course Handicap).

Runner up prizes – Voted against

Final league games to be played on same day – Voted against

  1. Rules 2023

Rule 9 Addition: Named player alteration deadline to be 1st July

Rule 20: The home club is to provide food – voted no change

Rule 27: Voted to increase the fine for failing to turn up for a fixture from £100 to £200 for 1st offence and from £200 to £400 for 2nd offence.

Also to fine any team(s) for failing to declare an un-played fixture in line with the above.

Vets Rule 5: Max shots given to remain at 10 for Division 1 & 14 for Division 2

Vets Rule 5: Request to play 100% of course as opposed to 90% – voted against

  1. Finals Day:

Confirmed as 12:30pm Saturday 9th September 2020 at Trentham Park Golf Club

      Vets – TBC

  8. Election of Officers for 2022.

      No election required until 2023.

  •  AOB – Discussed to hold open day same day as finals day.

10th September 2022

Stone Golf Club hosted this years Mens Knockout finals, the day saw Leek Golf Club continue their great year by winning both the Scratch and Dofsky titles both against Wolstanton. The Haughton Salver saw Newcastle defeat Sandbach. Thank you to Stone who were excellent hosts and congratulations to the winning sides.

Gentlemen,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone all the best for 2022 and the forthcoming golfing season.

On behalf of the League may I take this opportunity to thank all the retiring team captains for their help and assistance and wish them well for the future.

A warm welcome to any new team captains, we look forward to working with you.

To all the Team Captains:–

Please make every effort to contact your opponents before your match to confirm the time and date of your fixtures.

For those clubs who have 2 teams please ensure you submit your 10 named players by the 15th March 2022.

Please remember to post your result in full to the appropriate Whatsapp group by 22:00 on the Sunday. Then we will have no points deducted or disqualifications this coming season.

In the event of matches being curtailed for inclement weather etc, please make every effort to replay them.

Finally, if we can be of any assistance during the coming season, please don’t   hesitate to contact one of us.

  1. Apologies – The Manor, Barlaston & Blythe Bridge.
  2. Minutes of the previous AGM – Taken as read.
  3. Matters arising – There were none.
  4. Accounts for the year ending 31st October 2020 and 2021 accepted. T
    1. The meeting was informed of the following:
    2. The excess monies held will be used to increase prize money from £20pp to £40pp for the current season and forthcoming seasons.  The prize money to be paid to Team Club Shops or to a Shop of choice if winning teams do not have one.
  5. Subscriptions for 2022 – to remain at £80 per team.
  6. FINAL DATES:
    1. Confirmed as Saturday 10th September 2021 at Stone Golf Club
    2. Vets – At Malkins Bank Golf Club, date TBC.
  7. Election of officers for 2022 & 2023
